Since Woodlesford station was opened in 1840 there have been a number of accidents over the years, some of them fatal. This is a well known photo of a carriage which crashed into Aberford Road. Its believed to have taken place in 1910 and must have happened when the carriage was being shunted into the station sidings. From the appearance of the people in the crowd, who seem to be in their best clothes, it could well have been that the train was being prepared for an excursion and they were its intended passengers.

On a more mundane level the overbridge across Aberford Road has been regularly hit by lorry drivers who have underestimated the height of their loads. This incident in the 1960s was captured by Derek Rayner.
